I can see why kinds wouldn't be interested. It is SLOW and the UI isn't what they are used too.

If I was a kid I'd rather have Dad's old laptop with a 14" screen and Windows 95 or Windows 2000 - at least I could print and run an email client.

Hmmm - maybe I'm just new to this and see the missing parts.

4xo! There were kids at the meet up & I hope that there will be more at the next one. Many of the Ottawa XO owners I've met so far bought them for their children. I know several other children in that age group who were not at the last meet up, but who are planning to come to the next one. We want them to be family-friendly events. I'll be sure to send you an email for the next meet up notice on it and/keep an eye on this space and on the OLPC news forum spac, too!

I have kids, ages 7 to 10, and can't get them satisfactorily excited about the xo. I would love to get my kids together with other Ottawa kids to xo-interact (read motivate each other to use the xo). Maybe we need an Ottawa xo kids klub (OXOKK) that gets together somewhere and kids learn from each other and get into it. If any one with kids 7 to 13 is interested, email me at 4xo@komokoa.com

Hello,

I just wanted to leave a link for anyone who is new to the Unix/Linux world that will get them started navigating the shell (Terminal activity). It is very gentle and succinct.

Hello,

We received our XO last week but haven't yet spent much time with it. Looking forward to exchanging idea and discoveries with others. We're located in the country north of Kingston. I'd love to heart of anyone close by.
